🌿 Supporting Kherson: How Your Donations Help People and Animals in Ukraine

At Ukraine Gift Delivery, our mission goes beyond sending flowers and gifts — it’s about delivering care, connection, and real support to people living through incredibly difficult times.

Today, we want to share the story of someone very special to us.

We are proud to tell you about our dear friend and partner, Natalia Shatilova  https://www.facebook.com/natal.a.satilova.pogasij, a resident of Kherson. Natalia has become our trusted liaison in helping deliver food and essential support to abandoned animals and vulnerable people in the region.

Kherson remains one of the areas most affected by ongoing conflict. For years, local communities have lived under constant risk, facing shelling, destruction of homes, and lack of basic necessities.

And yet — life continues.

Natalia was kind enough to tell us more about their work in Kherson and the incredible efforts happening on the ground.

🤝 A Powerful Network of Support

What keeps Kherson going is cooperation.

Local organizations such as Hromada “UA”, the Ukrainian Red Cross (Dnipro district), the Antonivka community administration, and the Dnipro district council work together with volunteers and international supporters to help those in need.

Together, they:

• support families who lost homes and property
• provide essential supplies to those affected by attacks
• create safe community spaces for vulnerable groups

🏠 Safe Spaces for Those Who Need It Most

Thanks to volunteers, safe spaces have been created where:

• children and youth with disabilities can participate in activities
• women attend workshops and community programs
• residents learn life-saving first aid skills

These spaces were not handed over — they were built by volunteers themselves.
From repairing facilities to creating welcoming environments, everything was done with care and dedication.

🌱 Supporting Families and the Most Vulnerable

The initiative goes even further.

Volunteers organize:

• short recovery trips for families raising children with mental disabilities
• support for people with limited mobility
• distribution of hygiene products and rehabilitation equipment

These efforts bring not just help — but dignity and hope.

🐾 Helping Those Who Cannot Ask for Help

There is another group in Kherson that depends entirely on human kindness — abandoned animals.

Dogs and cats, many left behind in dangerous “red zones,” are unable to survive without help.

Despite real risks, volunteers:

• walk long distances to feed them
• provide medical care and sterilization
• evacuate animals from high-risk areas
• search for safe and loving homes

This work is difficult, emotional, and often dangerous — but it continues every single day.

None of this would be possible without support from people around the world.
